What an incredible finish to the National Hydropower Association (NHA)’s Water Power Week 2026 in Washington, D.C.! 🌊
During NHA’s Advocacy Day, CalWave’s Marcus Lehmann had the distinct privilege of meeting both of Alaska’s U.S. Senators in person, the Honorable Senator Lisa Murkowski and Honorable Senator Dan Sullivan together with NHA’s President and CEO Malcolm Woolf.
It was an invaluable opportunity to discuss advancing CalWave’s project in Alaska with continued support by Launch Alaska, and to highlight how wave power can support remote communities, increase energy resilience, and ensure national security.

Beyond our focus on Alaska, CalWave joined over 140 industry colleagues to meet with representatives across Capitol Hill. Together, we advocated for policies that streamline permitting and champion the critical need to support marine energy research, development, and deployment across the U.S.
We also want to extend a massive thank you to our partners at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), specifically the newly named Hydropower and Hydrokinetic Office (H2O). Their continued support of marine energy innovation is what makes projects like our highly anticipated gird connected deployment at the PacWave possible.

Thank you to the National Hydropower Association for organizing a phenomenal conference and giving our industry a unified voice on the Hill. To maintain a safe and prosperous America, we need a secure domestic energy supply—and marine energy is ready to deliver. ⚡️
